Cats Can Be Philanthropists Too
Donors love to come visit us at the SAY Finley Dream Center, and we LOVE hosting them for tours of our campus. Last month, we had our most unusual donor visit yet: Luther Furrbank the philanthropic cat came to visit alongside his human Cat Cvengros. Luther Furrbank teamed up with Mr. Snazzy Britches, our incoming CEO Katrina Thurman’s kitty to donate to the Finley Dream Center capital campaign, and they have a room in our counseling building named in their honor.
Luther’s dream was to visit his room at the Dream Center, and Cat was able to make it happen before she moved to San Jose to start an exciting new role as the Vice President of Marketing and Development at the Second Harvest Food Bank. It was a great visit, capped off with a stop in our outgoing CEO Matt Martin’s office for a quick snuggle on Matt’s lap. (Editor’s note: Matt doesn’t usually let donors sit on his lap, but for Luther, he was willing to make an exception – goodbye elected office! hello embarrassing photos for the future!)
If you would like to come see Luther and Snazzy’s donor plaque – or tour the SAY Finley Dream Center Campus – we invite you to join us at an upcoming tour!
