October 16 Fire Update + Critical Needs

SAY Friends, Supporters, and Partners:

We are happy and grateful to report that the mandatory evacuation orders have been lifted for both the SAY Finley Dream Center and Tamayo Village! Both facilities are undamaged and all current SAY youth residents are welcome to return home. All residents are supplied N95 masks to protect themselves against the poor air quality in the Bennett Valley area. All youth are required to keep a bag packed and transportation will remain on site in case new evacuations are ordered.

We are in critical need of prepared meals for our youth who are now going home. All their personal food they worked hard to pay for had to be thrown away due to power outages. We are currently requesting prepared meals to feed 40 residents at the Dream Center, delivered twice a day for breakfast and dinner; and prepared meals to feed 25 residents at Tamayo Village, also delivered twice a day for breakfast and dinner.

Like so many of us, our youth are exhausted and still a little scared. A hearty, home cooked meal will help provide comfort and sustenance for our youth while they work on re-stabilizing their lives.

Our Youth Crisis Line remains open at (888) 729-0012.

We are so thankful to our community for the support they have provided in the last week. Thank you for continuing to wrap your love around our youth during these incredibly difficult times.
