Employee of the Quarter: Kitu Jhawar-Terris

Employee of the Quarter: Kitu Jhawar-Terris

Congratulations to Kitu Jhawar-Terris, Program Manager of SAY’s School Mental Health & Grief Services, for being selected as SAY’s Employee of the Quarter!

“Her honesty and transparency make her team feel supported and cared for,” shared Brooke Ransom-Burr, Director of Counseling. “I love working beside her, and am constantly inspired by her passion.”

Kitu’s path to becoming a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist was one that interested her early on: “I’ve always known that I wanted to help people. Even in high school I was a peer counselor. So it started as something little, and it just always resonated with me. I was always that person that people wanted to talk to and share things with.”

It’s easy to see why people feel so relaxed around her. Kitu is equal parts good-natured humor, contemplative listener, and calming presence. She loves sarcasm and values authenticity. In addition to working at SAY, Kitu also runs a private practice where she counsels teens and adults. “I can, at this point in my career, make just about anything therapeutic,” laughs Kitu. “We can talk about shoes and I’ll sneak in therapy.”

Kitu is often busy chasing after her 5-year old daughter and brand-new rescue puppy. When she has a little bit of free time, she loves exploring new styles of food, relaxing at the coast or Russian River, and getting lost in conversation with friends.
