Shine a light for runaway and homeless youth

A Beacon of Hope for the Youth

This month, buildings and monuments across the country will be lit green to raise awareness about the experiences of runaway and homeless youth that too often remain invisible.

SAY is will be lighting our buildings green during the week of November 13 -19th as a beacon of support for local youth, illuminating their path to safe and secure resources.  We are partnering with other local businesses to join us in turning their lights green. Thanks to Paradise Ridge Winery, Redwood Credit Union (on Cleveland Ave.) and SOMO Village for taking part in this project.

4.2 million youth in the U.S. experience some sort of homelessness. In Sonoma County, the number of unsheltered youth has increased 70% over the last two years. Even one youth on the streets is too many.

Light the Night is spearheaded by the National Runaway Safeline and Family and Youth Services Bureau.  Learn more here.
