Our Career Department helps high school students in Santa Rosa City Schools prepare for their future with connections to education, internships, and work-based learning programs. We are seeking volunteers with professional experience who can help our students gain valuable career-readiness skills. Opportunities arise at different times throughout the school year, in different school locations. Interested volunteers can contact Susan.Boyle@saysc.org for information about joining our Career Volunteer email list. Volunteers are able to sign up for events that work with their schedules.
Mock Interviewer:
Mock interviewers help students practice, prepare and strategize for future interviews. Authentic and engaging interview questions will be presented and students will be asked to respond, as in a real interview. Interviewers will coach students through the process, so they feel better prepared to enter the work force.
Business Networking Volunteers:
A Business Networking Event is an activity for students to interact with a variety of industry partners to practice their networking skills and learn about career paths available to them. Students will have the opportunity to ask professionals questions and engage them in career-related discussion. We welcome volunteers with a wide variety of professional backgrounds to participate.
Guest Speaker:
We are seeking volunteers with professional experience (in a wide variety of fields) to present in the classroom on a topic directly related to the current course curriculum. Volunteers will be contacted according to student interest in specific industries. We are looking to expand our roster of interested candidates.
