EMERGENCY MEAL NEEDS

We are in critical need of prepared meals for youth utilizing our Emergency Winter Shelter to escape the cold and rainy weather and youth in our Short Term shelter. Without the kindness of community members like you, these kids will go to bed hungry.

We are currently requesting prepared meals to feed 20 youth. After all, a warm meal makes for a happy heart.

Administrative Support

Dream Center Receptionist

The Dream Center is seeking a volunteer that can provide world-class customer service during every interaction, including answering incoming calls, directing callers and visitors to appropriate personnel, and completing other tasks as assigned. The volunteer commitment for this position is 4 hours per day, 1–2 days per week, for a minimum of 6 months.

Program Support

Weekend Youth Support

SAY is seeking friendly volunteers eager to assist staff members and support youth residents on weekends. The housing team is looking for consistent and outgoing volunteers ready to be positive role models for our youth. Duties can include spending time engaging with youth by offering and initiating activities such as movies, board games, art projects, etc. Volunteers for this position must be at least 21 years of age. Shifts available are Saturday and Sunday from 8:30am-12:30pm and 12:30-4:30pm with a minimum commitment of 1 shift per week for at least 6 months.

Shelter Food Procurement

The Food Procurement Volunteer is an essential part of SAY Transitional Living Services. This volunteer will directly support SAY’s long term shelters with procurement of food and supplies. Responsibilities include collecting all food donations from locations around Sonoma County and delivering the items to the appropriate shelter.

Event Support

SAY relies on one-time volunteers to help with our events! Get involved at the event, or help beforehand.

SAY is recruiting volunteers to help at our annual Big Event! Check back for updates and sign-ups.

How to get started

To become a member of our volunteer network, you’ll need to:

  • Attend a monthly tour at one of SAY’s program sites. Click here for upcoming tour dates and to RSVP.
  • Complete a volunteer application
  • Attend a meeting with a volunteer coordinator for paperwork
  • Schedule a Live Scan fingerprinting and background check
  • Some positions may require additional training

Want to support SAY, but only have a few hours to spare?

Join our list of on-call volunteers! We’ll contact you when we need some extra hands. Opportunities include picking up donations, administrative help, decorating for holidays, helping at our shelters, and more!
