Trainee/Associate Program
SAY offers placements for Trainees and Associates who are on a licensure track toward becoming an MFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist. We provide group supervision, individual supervision, and weekly trainings on topics relating to professional development.
SAY serves a variety of clients, including young children, teens, and young adults. We counsel individuals and families who face challenges ranging from family conflict to mental health issues. Trainees and Associates can tailor their caseload to specialize in specific populations, such as working with small children, or gain experience working with a wider variety of clients.
We expect Trainees to commit to a year-long placement, for 20-25 hours per week, carrying a caseload of at least 8 clients. Trainee cohorts run from August – August each year. We have fieldwork placement agreements with Sonoma State University, San Francisco State University, and Dominican University of California, among others (please inquire if your academic institution is not listed.)
